Shipping Supervisor
Summary:
Directs activities of shipping department for the purpose of coordinating physical movement of outbound shipments by performing the following duties either personally or through staff:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
- Supervises activities of employees engaged in packaging products, shipping, loading, and unloading trucks and in storing, retrieving, packing, and distributing finished goods including gathering, packaging, and shipping all aftermarket products.
- Set Shipping KPIs
- Suggest solutions for process optimization and improvements.
- Ensure proper packaging processes are followed.
- Ship and track all shipments going to Warehouse.
- Create reports/graphs for monthly management meetings.
- Control shipping budget.
- Coordinate trucks – Outbound – Work directly with logistics company, freight companies, customers, and internal support to determine shipping methods and timing.
- Manage all important documents such as bill of ladings, etc.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Maintain an orderly and neat stock in Shipping.
- Establish and maintain the continuous flow process to ensure prompt deliveries to customers and turnaround on customer returns.
- Project Management – Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Human Resources for action.
- Approves time for subordinates daily.
- Works scheduled departmental hours.
- Attends production meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: Epicor, MS Office, Epicor, Labor Collection,
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
