Crater Box-maker (Shipping Department) – 2nd Shift

SUMMARY:

Perform duties required to measure and construct crates, skids and boxes for conveyor equipment and part shipments.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:

  • Work from verbal and written instructions.
  • Measure conveyors and parts to calculate size requirements and construct crates, skids and boxes for shipment of equipment and parts.
  • Move crates, boxes and skids of conveyor products in the shipping and receiving area.
  • Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials. Nail gun and Staple gun usage.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:  Requires interpretation to adhere to requirements.  Must have good motor skills and be able to decal.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  3  to 12 months of previous qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
